Scottish jewelry is quite special and its origins can be traced back to the age of Sir Walter Scott & his visit to Scotland in 1822 of George IV (in full Highland dress). The popularity of the jewelry was spread by Queen Victoria and her love of all things Scottish. Stones commonly used were agate, jasper, bloodstone and citrine. These pieces were mainly made in small artisan workshops and little is known about the actual artists who constructed these beautiful pieces.
