This stunning and substantial late 20th century ring was masterfully fabricated by Jean-Pierre Brun. An estimated 35 carat fluted emerald cabochon is bezel-set in gleaming 18k gold and framed by inlaid mother of pearl shoulders that smoothly transition into polished gold shank. A rare and wonderful jewel. Size 5.25.
Jean-Pierre Brun was a master goldsmith who manufactured jewelry for many companies including Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Chaumet, S.T. Dupont, Boucheron, Hermes and Mellerio until he sold the workshop to Cartier in 2000.
Emerald: 21.67 x 18.13 x 12.78 mm, estimated 35 carats, untested. This emerald ring was well loved and has surface wear throughout, several surface reaching inclusions and seven ribbed sections with small chips (primarily located near the gold bezel).
