Antique Emerald and Diamond Brooch

This rare and charming jewel, once likely part of an early 19th century station necklace, has been artfully converted in antiquity into a brooch. A glowing, vivid green, foil-backed emerald (approximately 2 carats) has been modestly framed in a shimmering halo of cushion-cut diamonds and radiant green emeralds. Lightly hand fabricated in silver topped gold, this precious pin measures 27 x 19 mm. Comes in a fitted box from Froment Meurice, Paris. 

Emeralds: center 8 x 8 mm with minimum depth of 3 mm, estimated 2 carats, treatment unknown. Center emerald has facet wear, a small chip on the girdle one corner. 6 smaller emeralds approximately 2.8 x 1.9 mm each. Two emeralds have very tiny abrasions and all have minor facet wear. 

Diamonds: 12 assorted cushion-cut diamonds I1 - I3 range in clarity, most are faint yellow range, estimated .30 total carats

Notes: likely re-foiled, repair to the closed back on the center emerald
