Karl Rothmuller Art Nouveau Rose Cut Diamond and Natural Pearl Chrysanthemum Brooch

$7,800.00

This phenomenal Art Nouveau chrysanthemum brooch by Karl Rothmuller embodies both beauty and resilience. Expertly and artfully hand-fabricated in silver and gold, the center of the blossom displays a lustrous natural saltwater pearl, wrapped in graceful rose-cut diamond lined petals. This brooch is accompanied by a gemological report from GIA stating the pearl is a natural baroque saltwater pearl. Signed "RATH" on the reverse.

Karl Rothmuller was granted the exclusive title of Royal Bavarian Court Goldsmith in 1908, which was a prestigious recognition. This title was only granted to a select few goldsmiths who were considered to be the finest artisans of their time and who had been appointed by the royal family to produce jewelry and other decorative objects for their use.

The family business, founded in 1886, was among the exclusive circle of exhibitors at the 1900 Paris World Exhibition and was awarded both a silver and a bronze medal. This was a significant achievement that demonstrated the high level of skill and craftsmanship that went into the production of their jewelry.
