This phenomenal Art Nouveau chrysanthemum brooch by Karl Rothmuller embodies both beauty and resilience. Expertly and artfully hand-fabricated in silver and gold, the center of the blossom displays a lustrous natural saltwater pearl, wrapped in graceful rose-cut diamond lined petals. This brooch is accompanied by a gemological report from GIA stating the pearl is a natural baroque saltwater pearl. Signed "RATH" on the reverse. 

Karl Rothmuller was awarded the prestigious title of Royal Bavarian Court Goldsmith in 1908, an honor granted only to the finest artisans of the time who were appointed by the royal family to create jewelry and decorative objects for their exclusive use. His Munich workshop contributed significantly to the city’s reputation as a hub for fine jewelry and decorative arts during this period.

The Rothmuller family business, founded in 1886, was among the exclusive circle of exhibitors at the 1900 Paris World Exhibition, where they were awarded both silver and a bronze medals. This global event, showcasing the finest decorative arts, positioned Rothmuller’s creations alongside the work of legendary jewelers such as Cartier and Boucheron. This recognition highlighted the exceptional skill and artistry of their creations, securing their reputation among the elite jewelers of Europe.
