A rare and extremely fine micro mosaic brooch of a spaniel framed in a millefiori border and inlaid in lapis. The mosaic is seated inside an ornate 18 karat gold frame, flanked by two tiny gem-set flowers and two seed pearl crescents, tipped with sapphires. This lovely mosaic is attributed to works of Giacomo Raffaelli (Italian, 1753 - 1836).
Metal: frame is 18k, pin and closure are 14k
Measurements: 2 1/4” long x 1 5/8” high
Sapphires: four large sapphires are approximately .08 cater each, two smaller approximately .05 carat each
