This fine enamel miniature of Venus and Cupid dates to the late 19th century France. The porcelain plaque is framed by a thin border of black enamel accented by twinkling rose-cut diamonds and four natural pearls. The back of the pendant/brooch displays a glass covered compartment containing a piece of blue silk.
Markings: The bail and the pin stem are both hallmarked with the French eagle's head indicating 18 karat gold and a partial maker's mark.
