This massive and mesmerizing black opal comes from the historic Lightning Ridge opal mine in Australia. Filled with a dazzling array of electric blues and neon greens, this breathtaking black opal cabochon is crowned by a looping diamond set decoration that gracefully transitions into slender diamond set rays. Dating to the first quarter of the 20th century, this exquisite pendant / brooch has been expertly crafted in platinum and 14k gold and packs approximately 3.85 carats of European-cut, old mine-cut, single-cut and full-cut diamonds. A rare and wonderful jewel.
